I’ll spare you the chalk starts, and post some guys I like that are on the cheap. I’ll have one pick for an “outlier” underneath my top guys. Good luck to all and please remember to gamble responsibly within your means.
Quarterbacks
Justin Fields
Lamar Jackson
Jordan Love
Outlier: C.J. Stroud — Unknown entity at this point, but he has good shot to put up some rushing yards. Editor’s Note: Stoud is questionable for Sunday with a shoulder injury.
Running Backs
Khalil Herbert
Rachaad White
Tyler Allgeier
Dameon Pierce
Outlier: Joshua Kelley — I have him as an outlier because he’s got to be in a few of your lineups, but the Tennessee run D is usually pretty decent. Chargers probably get up on TEN early, Kelley will probably see 20 carries, but if it’s predictable (e.g., they’re up 17 points) then Vrabel with sniff that out. Because of his price and ceiling, Kelley is mandatory in at least some of your lineups.
Wide Receivers
Jaxson Smith-Njigba
Tyler Boyd
Quentin Johnston
Zay Jones
Darnell Mooney
Outliers: Josh Reynolds, Marvin Jones, Jr., John Metchie – All are boom or bust plays.
Tight End
Outliers: Logan Thomas, Chigoziem Okonkwo, Luke Musgrave — Musgrave MAY have a good relationship with Jordan Love, too early to tell. Thomas may have a good matchup, Okonkwo the same.
DEF
New York Jets (vs. Cowboys)
Outlier: Arizona Cardinals (vs. Giants) — Boom or bust.
These are some of the guys I’m mixing in with the chalkies. Obviously I have Cowboys as a must start versus the Jets, but again, you’re not going to see straight chalk picks. You’ve seen those enough from the “experts”.
